Assistant Professor of English
Tenure-track position beginning fall 2009 in Ethnic American Literatures and Fiction Writing. Teaching responsibilities will include upper- and lower-level courses in these areas; an annual section of first-year composition; and possibly courses in Contemporary American Fiction or Film. Opportunities in interdisciplinary programs including African American Studies, Latin American and Caribbean Studies, and Women's Studies. PhD required, or MFA with substantial scholarly credentials.
Washington and Lee University, a highly selective national liberal arts college and home of the distinguished literary review Shenandoah, is located in the Shenandoah Valley.
